The Esmark Stars Midget teams (U18, U16 and U15) were in action  this past weekend (Dec. 7 - 9), at the HoneyBaked Hockey / Team Inn Invitational Showcase in Fraser, MI.

The U15 Stars opened the showcase with a 3-2 overtime win over the Nashville Jr. Predators '02 squad on Friday.  On Saturday, the U15 Stars posted their second win of the showcase with an impressive 7-1 win over the PAL Islanders out of Long Island, NY, in a n early afternoon game. They dropped their Saturday night game suffering a tough 3-2 loss to the Sno-King Jr. Thunderbirds (Seattle, WA) U16 squad in an overtime/ shootout, following a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation and through five minutes of 3-on-3 overtime hockey. The U15 Stars would also drop their final game of the event, falling to HoneyBaked (Detroit, MI) Hockey's U15 squad 4-3 in overtime. Following the TeamInn Showcase, the U15 Stars record now stands at 19-9-2-3.

The U16 Stars posted a 4-0-0-0 record at the event. They opened with a 3-2 win over the Jersey Hitmen on Friday.  On Saturday, they picked up two more "W's" with wins over the PAL Islanders, 2-1. and the Islanders Hockey Club, 6-0.  They then closed their showcase with a 6-4 win over the Boston Jr. Bruins, on Sunday. The unblemished showing at the Showcase upped the Stars U16 record to 19-12-2-2.

The U18 Stars also posted a 4-0-0-0 record at the event. The Midget Major squad opened the Showcase with a 4-1 win over South Florida Hockey Academy on Friday.  On Saturday, they posted wins over the Boston Jr. Bruins, 6-3, and, the Islanders Hockey Club, 4-1.  The Stars closed the showcase with a 3-1 win over the South Shore Kings. The four wins at the Showcase pushed the Stars U18 squad's overall record to 28-8-1-1.
