The Esmark Stars Midget teams (U18, U16 and U15) will be in action this weekend (Dec. 7 - 9), as they return to Fraser Arena in Fraser, MI, for the HoneyBaked Hockey / Team Inn Invitational Showcase.
The Derek Gaworski led U15 Stars open with a game against the Nashville Jr. Predators '02 squad on Friday, Dec. 7, with a 4:15 p.m. opening face-off. They return to action twice on Saturday. First up is an 1:10 p.m. game against the PAL Islanders '03. Then later in the evening, 7:10 p.m., the U15 Stars face Sno-King Jr. Thunderbirds '02. The Stars close the showcase with a Sunday game against HoneyBaked '03, 11:25 a.m. The U15 Stars enter the showcase with an overall record of 17-9-2-1.
Yuri Krivokhija and the U16 Stars open the event against the Jersey Hitmen on Friday, Dec. 7, with a 6:15 p.m. opening face-off. They return to action twice on Saturday. First up is an 11:25 a.m. against the PAL Islanders. Then later in the early evening, 5:25 p.m., the U16 Stars face the Islanders Hockey Club. The Stars close the showcase with a Sunday game against the Boston Jr. Bruins, 11:15 a.m. The U16 Stars enter the showcase with an overall record of 15-12-2-2.
Dave Kosick and the U18 Stars open with a game against the South Florida Hockey Academy on Friday, Dec. 7, 2:10 p.m. opening face-off. They return to action twice on Saturday. First up is an morning tilt, 9:10 a.m., with the Boston Jr. Bruins. Then later in the afternoon, 3:10 p.m., the U18 Stars face the Islanders Hockey Club. The Stars close the showcase with a Sunday showdown with the South Shore Kings, 1:10 p.m. The U18 Stars enter the showcase with an overall record of 24-8-1-1.
"This is an outstanding event with great scouting presence," said program general manager Dave Kosick. "And it gives us a chance to play against predominantly East-coast based teams that we do not see often."
