Stars Enjoy Connecticut Weekend

All three Esmark Stars Midget teams (U18, U16 and U15) were in action this past weekend (Nov. 30 - Dec. 2) at the ECEL Holiday Classic in Northford, CT. 

The U15 Stars skated to a perfect 4-0-0-0 record at the event. They opened play with a clash against the Boston Advantage on Friday, Nov. 30, and skated to a 5-2 win.  They return to action twice on Saturday, Dec. 1, and recorded wins over the West Coast Renegades, 6-1, and Elite Hockey Academy, 5-0.  The Stars close the showcase on Sunday with a perfect record with a 5-1 win over the New Jersey Jr. Titans. With their showing at the ECEL Holiday Classic, the U15 Stars improved their overall record of 17-9-2-1.

The U16 Stars skated to a 2-1-0-1 record in Connecticut. They opened the event with a 1-0 shutout win over the Boston Advantage on Friday.  They return to action twice on Saturday and dropped a tough 4-3 decision to the New Jersey Jr. Titans and a 4-3 overtime loss to Canadian powerhouse Hill Academy. The Stars closed their showcase with a 3-2 overtime/shootout win over Elite Hockey Academy. The U16 Stars record stands at 15-12-2-2 after the Showcase.

The U18 Stars skated to a 3-1-0-0 record at the ECEL Showcase. They opened the event with a 6-2 win over Canadian-prep school Hill Academy on Friday, Nov. 30.  They returned to action on Saturday and earned a split, as they defeated the New Hampshire Avalanche, 4-3, and dropped a tough 4-2 decision to the New Jersey Jr. Titans.  The Stars closed their showcase with a 2-1 win over the Boston Advantage on Sunday morning. The U18 Stars overall record improved to 24-8-1-1.

All three Esmark teams return to action this weekend, Dec. 7-9, at the Team Inn Invitational hosted by the HoneyBaked Hockey Club in Fraser, MI.
