Haduch and Simko Named T1HF "Players of the Week"

MEMBERS OF U12 AND U18 STARS SELECTED AS TOP PEE WEE MAJOR AND MIDGET MAJOR PLAYERS FOR WEEK 17

Pittsburgh, PA - Brody Simko, a member of the Midget U18 Esmark Stars, and Xavier Haduch a member of the Pee Wee Major U12  (2010) squad, were each selected as the Player's of the Week, Midget 18U Major and Pee Wee 12U Major, for week 17 (Dec 16 - 18, 2022) of the Tier 1 Hockey Federation (T1HF) season.

Haduch was recognized for his work between the pipes for the 12U Pee Wee Major Stars as he recorded a pair of wins in goal. He stopped 44 of 48 shots he saw in the two games with a .917 save percentage, in recording a 3-2 win in an overtime shootout win over Team Maryland and a 4-2 win over the Mercer Chiefs, as the Stars picked up four T1HF wins at home. "X had three clutch saves in the shootout to bring home the win and turned in a really solid effort in his two games," said Esmark U12 head coach Nate Nehnevajsa. 

Simko was recognized for his work in a two-game home-and-home sweep of the Pittsburgh Predators as he notched six points (3G, 3A). His points included a pair of goals and assists in a 10-1 win at Ice Castle in the opener and a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win at Pittsburgh Ice Arena in game two of the two-game set. This is the second time Simko has been recognized by the T1HF as "Player of the Week" for his efforts.

Additionally, Nino DiPietro was recognized as an "honorable mention" in the 15U Midget PURE Division. 

The T1HF announces the Players of the Week for each age classification at the conclusion of each week of play.
