Weekend Preview: Sept 30 - Oct 2

Elite Prospects Events Kick-off

Pittsburgh, PA - The Esmark Stars AAA Hockey Program's will have six teams in action this upcoming weekend, Sept 30 - Oct 2.

Esmark's U14, U15, U16 and U18 squads all will participate in the inaugural Elite Prospects Cup Series Showcase in Philadelphia, PA, Friday, Sept 30 through Sunday, Oct 1.

The U14 Bantam Major Stars open EPCS play on Friday, at 10:15 a.m., against the Mercer Chiefs. Later on Friday, 6:30 p.m., the Stars and the Connecticut Jr Rangers will tangle. On Saturday, Oct 1, the Stars and Syracuse Nationals will hook-up at 12:00 p.m. Esmark closes the four-game showcase on Sunday, Oct 2, with a 8:15 a.m. face-off against American Hockey Academy. All four games will be at the Ice Line Arena in West Chester, PA.

The U15 Midget Stars open EPCS play on Friday, Sept 30, 12:00 p.m., against the Syracuse Nationals at the new Campus Arena in Downington, PA. On Saturday, Oct 1, at 10:15 a.m., the Stars and the New Jersey Colonials will tangle at the Ice Line Arena in West Chester, PA. Then later on Saturday,  the Stars and the American Hockey Academy will hook-up at 4:45 p.m. at Ice Line in a non-EPCS game. Esmark closes the four-game showcase on Sunday, Oct 2, with a 10:15 a.m. face-off against West Chester Express at Ice Line. 

The U16 Midget Minor Stars open EPCS play on Friday, Sept 30, 2:00 p.m., against the Philadelphia Jr Flyers at the Ice Line Arena in West Chester, PA. On Saturday, Oct 1, at 10:00 a.m., the Stars and the West Chester Express  (White Plains, NY) will tangle at Ice Line. Then later on Saturday,  the Stars and the Florida Alliance will hook-up at 8:30 p.m. at Ice Line in a non-EPCS game. Esmark closes the four-game showcase on Sunday, Oct 2, with a 12:00 p.m. face-off against Team Maryland at the new Campus Arena in Downington, PA. 

The U18 Midget Major Stars open EPCS play on Friday, Sept 30, 4:00 p.m., against Team Maryland. On Saturday, Oct 1, at 2:00 p.m., the Stars and the Philadelphia Jr Flyers will meet. Esmark closes the three-game showcase on Sunday, Oct 2, with a 2:15 p.m. face-off against the New Jersey Colonials. All three games will be conducted at the Ice Line Arena in West Chester, PA. 

Meanwhile, the Star's U13 team will be in the Greater Cleveland area for a MadMen Showcase event this weekend. On Friday, Sept. 30, the Stars Bantam Minor team will open the event against the Syracuse Nationals, 1:30 p.m., at the Mentor Ice Arena, in Mentor, OH.  Later on Friday, they tangle with the Carolina Jr Hurricanes at 7:45 p.m. back at the Mentor Ice Arena. On Saturday, Oct 1, the Stars and Amherst Knights will face-off at 10:45 a.m.  Then the Stars meet Michigan-based Fox Motors at 6:30 p.m. Both Saturday games are also at the Mentor Arena. Esmark closes the five-game event on Sunday, Oct 2, 7:45 a.m., against the Cleveland Barons at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, OH. 

Esmark's U12 team will host the Ohio Jr Blue Jackets for a pair of games on Saturday, Oct 1, 12:00 and 4:30 p.m., at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena. 

The Stars U11 squad will enjoy the weekend off.
