The Esmark Stars AAA Hockey U11 & U12 teams were in action this past weekend, Oct. 8 - 10.

The U11 Pee Wee Minor AAA Esmark Stars hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite for a pair of games on Saturday at Pittsburgh Ice Arena.

In the opener, the Stars rode a 20-save performance from Issac Heisel to grab a 3-2 win. Jordan Lucca (1G, 1A), Caleb Krynicky (1G, 1A) and Blake Brenckle scored the Stars goals. Xypher Zamias and Liam Lehneke picked up assists.

In the Saturday nightcap, the PPE prevailed with a 3-2 win. Xypher Zamias (2G) scored both Esmark goals. Caden Biddle (2A), Blake Brenckle and Quinn Mitchell picked up assists. Xavier Haduch suffered the loss in goal.

The weekend split leaves the Stars with a (6-11-1-0) record.

The U12 Pee Wee Major AAA Esmark Stars traveled to Buffalo, NY, to participate in the Buffalo Jr Sabres Invitational at the Buffalo Sabres' Harborcreek Facility in downtown Buffalo.

The 2009 Stars open play on Friday, Oct. 8, and dropped a 5-4 decision to the Jersey Shores Whalers. Jacob DeWitt (2G), Chris Sargo and Connor Stivers collected goals. Brody Boban (2A) William McKivigan, Chay Lemagna, Beua Ritson, Jack Koerbel and Maxsim Popienko added assists. Both Ben Wilson and Jacob Johnson saw time in goal, with Wilson suffering the loss in goal despite allowing only 1 goal on 11 shots faced.

Friday afternoon, the Stars skated to a 3-3 tie with the Long Island Gulls. Jacob DeWitt (1G, 1A), Chay Lemagna and Reston Cicco scored for Esmark. Chris Sargo and Brody Boban picked up assists. Ben Wilson earned the tie in goal, stopping 37 of 40 shots he faced.

On Saturday morning, the Pee Wee Major Stars and the Amherst Knights skated to a 3-3 draw. Jacob DeWitt (1G, 1A), Brody Pablic and Cullen Carlson scored for the Stars. Chay Lemagna, Jack Koerbel, Connor Stivers and Brody Boban added assists. Jacob Johnson earned the tie in goal, stopping 34 of the 37 shots he faced.

The Stars closed the round-robing portion of the event dropping a 2-0 decision to the Buffalo Jr Sabres Saturday afternoon. Ben Wilson suffered the loss in goal despite kicking aside 43 of the 45 shots he saw.

On Sunday, the Stars U12 team closed their event dropping a 6-2 decision to CP Dynamo. Beau Ritson and Maxsim Popienko scored for the Stars. Jack Koerbel and Brody Boban added assists. Both Ben Wilson and Jacob Johnson saw time in goal with Johnson suffering the loss in goal.

The U12 Pee Wee Major AAA Esmark Stars record now stands at (5-9-3-0).

The Stars U13, U14, U16 and U18 squads all enjoyed the weekend off.
