Recap: Esmark Stars Sept. 12 - 13

U12 and U15 Stars split series'

This past weekend (Sept. 12 & 13), the Esmark Stars AAA Hockey 12U team kicked-off the 2020-2021 season with a trip to Cleveland, OH, to face the Cleveland Barons.

On Saturday, the Stars skated to a 7-1 win.  Alex Patsilevas (2G, 1 A) and Joseph Moore III each found the back of the net twice, with both of Patsilevas' goals coming on the power play and one of Moore's goals coming while the Stars were shorthanded.  Chase Secirskey (1G, 3A), Ryan Crouse (1G, 1A) and Canyon Hines (1G, 1A) also scored goals. Sean Goodman added an assist.  Giovanni Scally stopped 24 of 25 shots he faced to earn the win in goal.

On Sunday, the Barons flipped the script, skating to a 4-2 win in a very physical game.  Chase Secriskey (2G) scored both Stars goals, each on the power play. Alex Patsilevas (2A) and Ryan Crouse added assists.  Corbin Holt suffered the loss in goal, allowing 3 goals in the 37 shots he faced.  The Barons would add an empty net goal to close the scoring.

Meanwhile, the U15 AAA Stars split their weekend series with the Rochester Americans.

On Saturday, the Americans skated to a 4-2 win. Nathan Burlando and Caden Lindo-Canfield scored for the Stars. Robert Kelly, Jonathan Burkhart and Chantz Watkins picked up assists. Ian Amaranto suffered the loss in goal.

On Sunday, the Stars picked up a 3-2 win and split of the weekend series.  Caden Lindo-Canfield (1G, 1A), William Kiray III and Rory Shegan Siniawski scored for the Stars.  Lindo-Canfield's tally came on the power play.  Alexander Thomas (2A) and Chantz Watkins picked up assists in the game.  Andrew Krakora stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced and earned the win in goal.  The weekend split evens the Stars U15 squad's record at 2-2-0-0.

The U16 and U18 AAA Stars enjoyed an off weekend.
