The Esmark Stars AAA Hockey Club. is mourning the passing of Jason Michaels, father of U18 Esmark Stars player Jon Michaels.

Mr. Michaels, age 46, of Mercer, passed away on Saturday, March 14, following a recent cancer diagnosis.

In addition to his wife of nearly 23 years, Christin, he is survived by his three beloved sons, Jonathan, Joshua and Joseph.

Because of the ongoing crisis with the coronavirus and the requested restricting of gatherings in accordance with the CDC and the State of Pennsylvania, the Michaels family will be holding a private service. 

Jason is to be laid to rest in Mount Hermon Cemetery.

The Michaels family has asked that in keeping with Jason's generosity and giving spirit, that in lieu of flowers please consider an act of "pay-it-forward" by offering random acts of kindness towards those in need ... in his honor.
