15Us wrap up NAPHL regular season league play

The Esmark Stars U15 AAA Hockey team returned to action this past weekend, Jan. 18 - 21, 2020, as they traveled to Blaine, MN, for the final NAPHL High Performance Showcase of the 2019-2020 season for the U15 AAA division.

The U15 Stars opened play at the National Sports Center in Blaine on Saturday, with a 4-1 win over Meijer (MI) AAA.  Logan Scanlon paced the offense scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist. Tristan Lloyd and Chase Williams also scored goals. Liam McClaine and Chase Stormer picked up assists. And Fedor Tabako earned the win in goal.

The 15U Stars returned to the ice Saturday evening as they dropped a 4-0 decision to the Florida Alliance 15U AAA club. Paul Potosnak suffered the loss in goal.

On Sunday, the Stars skated to a 3-2 overtime win over the Sioux Falls (SD) Power. Chase Williams scored a pair of goals, including the game winner in overtime. Sebastian Vogt also scored for the Stars. Liam McClaine picked up a pair of assists, while Logan Scanlon, Derek Pietrzyk, and Kobe Rickabaugh earned assists. Fedor Tabako earned his second win of the showcase in goal.

The Stars finished their final NAPHL regular season showcase on Monday dropping a heart breaking 4-3  loss in overtime to the Colorado Springs Tigers on Monday.  Derek Pietrzyk, two goals, and Chase Stormer each found the back of the net, as the Stars fought back from a 3-0 deficit to force the game into overtime. Unfortunately their comeback was ruined one minute into overtime as Colorado Springs scored a power play goal. Ben Guenther, Logan Scanlon, Tristan Lloyd, Chase Williams and Jacob Meier picked up assists.

With their showing at the final NAPHL 15U Showcase, the Stars 15U AAA club overall record improves to (21-18-2-2).

Esmark's 15U AAA team, as well as the 16U and 18U AAA teams, will participate in the NAPHL's High Performance Division Dixon Cup Playoffs in Troy, MI, Feb. 14-17, 2020.

Both the U16 and U18 Esmark Stars enjoyed a scheduled off weekend.
