The Esmark Stars AAA Hockey Club's Midget AAA squads, U18, U16 and U15, will be traveling to Motor City and the greater Detroit region this weekend, Oct. 18-20, to participate in the Motown Classic Hockey Tournament.
In round-robin play, the 18Us open the schedule with a pair of games on Friday, Oct. 18. First up will be the Amherst Knights at 1:10 p.m., at the Mt. Clemens Ice Arena in Mt. Clemens, MI. Then later that evening, 8:10 p.m., the Stars will hook-up with Canadian powerhouse Okanagan Hockey Academy at the Fraser Hockeyland. On Saturday, Oct. 19, the Stars and Michigan Hockey Advancement renew their rivalry at 1:10 p.m., at Fraser Hockeyland. Quarterfinals, semi-finals and championship games and opponents to be announced. The 18U Stars enter the weekend with a 9-1-2-2 overall record.
The 16Us open the with a pair of games on Friday, Oct. 18. They square off with Mid-Am opponent the Tri-State Spartans at 11:30 a.m., at the Fraser Hockeyland in Fraser, MI. Then on Friday evening, 6:30 p.m. face-off, the U16 Stars take on MDHL back at Fraser Hockeyland. On Saturday, Oct. 19, the 16U Stars conclude round-robin play as they meet the Canadian club Elgin Middlesex at 11:30 a.m., at Fraser. Quarterfinals, semi-finals and championship games and opponents will be announced post round-robin play. The 16U Stars enter the weekend with a 10-2-0-0 overall record.
The U15s also open the event with a pair of Friday games. First up is an 8:00 a.m. face-off with the Chicago Jets, at the Fraser Hockeyland in Fraser, MI. Then later on Friday afternoon, 3:00 p.m., the U15 Stars draw the U16 SISU Thunderbirds out of western Ohio. On Saturday, Oct. 19, the 15U Stars conclude round-robin play as they meet the North Carolina-based Rogue Warriors at 8:00 a.m., at Fraser. Quarterfinals, semi-finals and championship games and opponents will be announced post round-robin play. The 15U Stars enter the event with a 7-9-2-0.
