Stars Set for Showcase weekend

NAPHL II and Motor City Cup Fall Classic on tap

The Esmark Stars AAA Hockey Club's U18, U16 and U15 squads will be back on the road at a pair of showcase events this upcoming weekend.

The 18U and 16U squads will be in Attleboro, MA and Cranston, RI, for the NAPHL East Showcase.

The event, which will be held in conjunction with the NA3HL East Showcase, a new event to the NAHL's Family of League's 2019-20 calendar, will take place at the New England Sports Village in Attleboro, MA, and the Cranston Veterans Memorial Ice Arena in Cranston, RI.

At the NAPHL event, all North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) 18U and 16U High Performance squads will play four games against teams from the NAPHL East.

The 18Us open the schedule with a pair of games on Friday, Oct. 4.  First up will be the Northeast Generals at 9:00 a.m., in Cranston.  Then later that afternoon, 3:15 p.m., the Stars will hook-up with the Seacoast Spartans at the New England Sports Village. On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Stars and Team Maryland meet up for a 3:00 p.m. tilt in Attleboro. The U18s then close the showcase with a showdown with the New Jersey Jr. Titans at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.  The 18U Stars enter the second NAPHL event of the season with a 5-1-1-1 overall record.

The 16Us open their Eastern Showcase schedule against the New Jersey Jr. Titans 11:15 a.m., in Attleboro.  On Saturday, the U16 Stars take to the ice twice.  First up is the Northeast Generals at 9:00 a.m. in Cranston. Then at 3:15 p.m., the Stars and the Everett (WA) Silvertips square-off in Attleboro. The U16s will close their showcase with a 10:45 a.m. game on Sunday, Oct. 6, against an opponent to be named.  The 16U Stars enter the event with a 7-1-0-0 overall record.

Meanwhile, the 15U Esmark Stars AAA Hockey squad will be in the greater Detroit region for the Motor City Cup Fall Classic Showcase, Oct. 4-6.

The U15s will open the event Friday night, Oct. 4, against the MDHL U16 squad at the 140 Ice Den in Howell, MI. On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Stars take to the ice twice.  First up is the Michigan Hockey Advancement U15 squad at 11:00 a.m. at Suburban Ice in Farmington Hills, MI. Then Saturday evening the Stars square-off with the Michigan Hockey Advancement U16 at the Lakeland Tri-Arena in Waterford, MI. The Stars close out the showcase with a 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8 against the MHA Red U16 squad at the 140 Ice Den in Howell, MI. The 15U Stars enter the event with a 5-7-1-1 overall record.
