This past weekend, Sept. 28 & 29, both the U16 and U15 Esmark Stars AAA teams traveled north to meet the Amherst Knights AAA club for a pair of single day two game affairs.
The U15 AAA Stars and Amherst took to the ice in Jamestown, NY, twice on Saturday with Amherst sweeping the two-game set.
The Knights took the late morning opener, 1-0, as they scored early in the first and held on for the shut-out win in a time shortened running clock game. Fedor Tabako took the loss in goal.
In the afternoon game, Amherst would find the back of the net twice and skate to a 2-0 shutout win. Paul Potosnak suffered the loss in goal.
With the two Saturday losses, the U15 Stars record fell to 5-7-2-0 on the young season.
On Sunday, the U16 Stars and Knights hooked up for a pair of games at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, PA.
The Stars captured the morning game 3-0 behind a shutout performance from Nathan Dickey, who earned the win in goal.
Later that afternoon, the two clubs hooked up for game two, and the Stars finished the two-game sweep, 4-3. Logan Marnik, recorded the win in goal.
With the two wins, the U16 Stars improved to 7-1-0-0 on the year.
The 18U Stars enjoyed an off weekend.
