Stars 18U and 16U in Detroit for NAPHL III

The Esmark Stars AAA 18U and 16U Midget teams will be in Troy, MI, for the third NAPHL league showcase of the season, Nov. 10-13, 2017, while the the U14 Stars welcome the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets to Pittsburgh Ice Arena for a pair of Saturday, Nov. 11, home games, and the U12 Stars travel to Columbus for a pair of Saturday, Nov. 11, road games.

Both the U18 Stars (3-1-0-2 in NAPHL league play, 12-9-0-4 overall) and 16U Stars (4-0-0-0 in NAPHL league play, 15-7-1-0 overall), will be participating in their third regular season showcase of the NAPHL season.

The U16 Stars, who sit tied atop the NAPHL standings coming into Troy, and who are currently on a nine-game winning streak, will face-off against Meijer AAA (MI), Everett Silver Tips (WA), Washington Little Capitols, HC Dallas (TX), and Car Shield AAA (MO).

The U18 Stars, who are tied for 5th in the NAPHL standings coming into Troy, although only losing only one league game in regulation play to date, will face-off against New Jersey Jr. Titans (MI), Arizona Bobcats, Pursuit of Excellence (Kelowna, BC), and the Rocky Mountain Rough Riders (CO) in league play and will square-off with national powerhouse Little Caesar's (MI) in non-league action.

Two regular season events remain on the NAPHL schedule, NAPHL IV, Dec. 2-4, in Blaine, MN, and NAPHL V, Jan. 27 - 29, 2018, in Blaine, MN. And the North American Prospects Hockey League Playoffs and the chase for the Dixon Cup will occur Feb. 17 - 20, 2018, back in Troy, MI.

Meanwhile, the U14 Stars welcome the AAA Blue Jackets to Pittsburgh for the backend of a home and home series.  The two squads split the opening series in Columbus, with the Blue Jackets grabbing the opening game, 2-1, and the Stars game two, 4-3. The Stars bring a 16-11-2-1 record into this weekend's showdown.

Last weekend, the U14 Stars, along with the U15 and U12 Stars, were in Chicago for the CCM World Invite Tournament.  After skating to a 4-3 win over the TPH Thunder (TN) in the opening game, the Bantam Major Stars dropped three consecutive hard fought games to Fox Motors, (MI), (1-3), Edina, MN (2-5), and Team Wisconsin (1-3).

The U12 Stars will kick-off a home and home series with the Pee Wee AAA Blue Jackets in Columbus.

Likewise, last weekend, the U12 Stars were in Chicago for the CCM World Invite Tournament.  The Pee Wee Major Stars dropped decisions to the San Jose Jr. Sharks (CA), Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (WI), Victoria Racquet Club (BC) and St. Louis Prospects (MO).

The U15 Stars trip to Chicago saw them drop decisions to the Milwaukee Junior Admirals, WI, (1-4), Osseo-Maple Grove, MN, (2-5), and Chicago Mission (1-7).  They also skated to a 3-3 tie with the Jersey Hitmen (NJ).

Next weekend, the U18 Stars square-off with the Gilmour Academy Lancers in a home and home weekend.  The two teams meet at Gilmour Academy on Saturday, Nov. 18, 3:00 p.m., and then at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena  on Sunday, Nov. 19, 11:00 a.m. face-off.  The U15 Stars take on the Pittsburgh Predators in a home and home weekend.  The Saturday, Nov. 18 game will be at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena, 6:00 p.m. opening face-off, and the Sunday return game at the Ice Castle Arena, 11:00 a.m.  The U16, U14 and U12 Stars will enjoy an off-weekend.
